108 Degrees

Selected Work, 2006-2007

108 degrees describes the essential element of the process used to create these pieces: all of them are composed using circular fields aligned at 108 degree angles. The work is a meditation on the paradoxes associated with metaphysical entities - particles that are also waves despite the contradictory properties that each form implies - that comprise the apparent fabric of the physical world. That we accept the interplay of such metaphysical entities, observed only indirectly by a very few qualified individuals, as the foundation of our shared physical reality supports the proposition that faith is the foundation for our belief in the veracity of science.

This body of work is a contemplation on faith, knowledge, and the relationship between the metaphysical and physical worlds.
